In May of 2008 the name of the Steuben County Lakes Council Land Trust was changed to 101 Lakes Trust to simply state its mission
Besides the land trust’s active involvement in acquiring the Trine Recreation Area of Pokagon State Park it has during the past year given several educational events. One has become an annual happening: Reflections on a lake.
Last year it was Reflections on Hamilton Lake and in the summer of 2008 it was Reflections on Lake James. Historians Flaim Cupp and Jim Somers provided 160 visitors with historicalstories as they were taken on pontoon rides around the lake. Later at Potawatomi Inn attendees gathered for a power point lecture during dinner.
In addition, we sponsor canoe rides on lakes, and walks near wetlands, and lakes with interpreter guides.
